A gold finger ring comprising a D-section hoop, keeled shoulders with vertical scroll detailing, ellipsoid plaque with two scaphoid panels inscribed 'VIC' and 'TOR' (winner, champion) in seriffed capitals. Cf. Ruseva-Slokoska, L. Roman Jewellery, Sofia, 1991, item 180 for type. 7.87 grams, 23.72mm overall, 19.52x16.60mm internal diameter (approximate size British O, USA 7, Europe 14.98, Japan 14) (1"). From the collection of a European gentleman living in South London; acquired 1970-1980. Very fine condition.
