A carved schist figure of a robed female standing with one leg crossed over the other on the back of a crouching lion; the figure in a loosely draped robe with swags of beads and clasp to the left shoulder, banded headdress with rosette, standing beneath a leafy canopy supported by the raised right arm; mounted on a custom-made stand. 44 kg, 91.5cm including stand (36"). Property of a North London gentleman; acquired on the UK art market before 2000. Very fine condition.
