4th-6th century AD. A silver finger ring comprising a broad flat-section hoop with chamfered panels and hatching to the shoulders, stepped discoid bezel with pelletted border and chi-rho Christogram. Cf. Ruseva-Slokoska, L. Roman Jewellery, Sofia, 1991, item 255 for type. 9.8 grams, 22.5mm overall, 18.5mm internal diameter (approximate size British O, USA 7, Europe 14.98, Japan 14) (3/4"). Property of a gentleman; acquired in the late 1960s-early 1970s. Fine condition.
