A deluxe small-sword with a diamond-set hilt, Tula, circa 1780 Narrow thrusting blade of triangular section. The signature "Kennedy Manufacturer No. 53 Loveday, St. Birmm & at Mr. Peacock's, King Street, Manchester" etched into the fullers on one side. Highly polished and burnished, iron knuckle-bow hilt with a pointed oval guard plate. Profusely embellished with finely faceted, riveted steel beads, interspersed with cartouches of gold-inlaid floral decoration. Extremely intricate iron grip mountings with appliquÃ©s of faceted beads and small gold blossoms. Engraved silver grip ferrules. Length 99 cm.Condition: II +
