Description

洪瑞麟出生於臺北大稻埕，由於父親對傳統文人畫的素養，自小便對繪畫發生了興趣。1929年進入倪蔣懷先生所創立的「台灣繪畫美術研究所」習畫，1930年啟程赴日，1931年進入日本帝國美術學校（今武藏野美術大學），並於1936年畢業。洪瑞麟也經常在大稻埕、臺北近郊與淡水進行水彩寫生，直接從自然中觀察環境。水彩作品深受英式水彩畫風影響，他終其一生繪畫所關懷的議題大多以表現社會階層勞苦的礦工為核心。
