Description: Consisting of three parts. The bottom part with three conjoined, caparisoned elephants, with elaborately decorated saddles with dragons. The elephant’s trunks rising in to the air. Upon a lotus pedestal – a ferocious dragon amongst swirling clouds, which leads to the openwork bulbous central body with swastika decorations, with two hinged openable doors where a lamp has been fitted. The top part with a large protruding phoenix and half Vajra. Signature on the inside of the base reading Nihon, Tokyo, Nishimura Unsho tsukuru. Condition: Good, original condition with a fine patina Provenance: From an important Austrian private collection, acquired before 1930
