Description: One of rectangular and one of square shape. The larger tray covered in black polished lacquer and decorated in gold hiramaki-e with a background of net pattern, scrolling vines, various mon and a knotted rope design and nashiji at the base. Particularly fine mixture of lacquer techniques utilizing nashiji, takamaki-e and togidashi-e inside the mon. The square tray with classic hiramaki-e scrolling floral vine pattern. Condition: Good condition - some traces of wear on the edges of the square tray Provenance: From an old Austrian private collection acquired before 1930 - with old collection number on the bottom of one tray
