A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF VAJRADHARA, TIBET, 16th ct., seated in vajrasana on a lotus base with the hands holding vajra and ghanta, pair of padma and utpala lotuses flowering along his upper arms, wearing dhoti falling in pleats around his legs, its border engraved with chevrons, beaded skirt draped over the backside of the dhoti, bejewelled, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below slightly arched eyebrows running into the nose-bridge, elongated earlobes with large circular ear rings, the hair combed in a chignon topped with a lotus-bud and secured with an elaborate tiara ornamented with a pair of padma lotus flowers and a pair of floating ribbons, traces of red lacquer at the reverse of the base, with inventory number BT 12, seal slightly damaged - Minor wear, short old break to base onm the reverse
