Beautiful Ming Jiajing WuCai porcelain ritual tripod wine vessel. The deep body rests on three blade-shaped supports. A flaming phoenix soars across the porcelain surface amongst colorful cloud form and traditional repetitive patterns. Phoenix or (Feng huang) represents good fortune, plentiful harvest, longevity, good luck, and fertility. The two posts that rise from the rim are surmounted by rounded blue conical caps. The exterior is decorated in a variegated WuCai or five-color shades and tones, delineating intertwining foliage and floral vines. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous craftsman. Mark on base, a vertical six blue underglazed script -KaiShu- characters, JiaJing Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty.
