Antique Chinese Wanli blue porcelain charger. Shallow curvature, with a slightly flared lip and circular base. Festooned with a dynamic dragon soaring amidst scrolling vine tendrils and lotus blooms. Hand-painted ornamentations are rendered in Ming blue hue which contrasts against the white glaze. Two columns of Chines characters are noted on the underside. The under base remains unglazed, revealing the pale-creme ground with graying firing marks. Mark on base, a vertical six blue underglazed script -KaiShu- characters, enclosed by double fine blue rings, WanLi Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty.
