Large Chinese Ming Dynasty Meiping or Plum Vase that has been skillfully painted. Thick Chinese porcelain shaped into a traditional Meiping form, with a narrow base, wide body, slender neck easing to form a petite opening. The exterior decorated with hand painting in blue underglaze. Intertwined floral vines and blooms ensconce the entire exterior. Banded with auspicious pattern on collar and foot base. The vase glistens as the light bounces from the smooth exterior. The foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, and the base left unglazed with grayish creme-brown ground and dark spots of firing marks. Dimensions: 17-1/2" H x 10-1/8" Diam.
