Chinese Crackled Glazed Censer. The compressed globular body rising to a short waisted and everted rim, flanked by a pair of fish molded handles, covered all over in ivory glaze, highlighted with an irregular dark crackle pattern and a denser network of subtle golden hued crackle, the unglazed hand-pared foot rim burnt orange in the firing. {Width: 5 1/2 inches (14 cm)}. Provenance: Collection of Captain Edward Pearce, Annapolis, Maryland, served the U.S. Navy in Japan & England during the 1960's to early 1970's.
