Nine Chinese Porcelain Scholar's Writing Implements. Comprising nine scholar's studio table objects, two ink paste cover boxes, a four feet rectangle covered censer, a mountain form ink stick rest, a scroll form paper weight, a tooth pick holder, a square form tall brush holder, and a small water container, decorated with flowers, cranes, crickets, birds and poems, each bears Hongxian four-character mark in iron red. Republic Period. {Tallest: 4 3/8 inches (11 cm)}. Provenance:Collection of Mary Margaret and Col. Wilbur Haven, who were assigned as US liaison to the Chinese government in Nanjing, their collection mostly acquired in the mid 1940s, and thence by descent within the family.
