Large Chinese Famille Verte Porcelain 'Dragon' Charger. Stoutly potted with gently rounded sides rising from a short foot, the central medallion painted with a pair dragons contesting a flaming pearl, all reserved on a rich egg-yolk yellow ground, the base inscribed with a four-character seal mark reading 'Chiu Hsiu Gong Chi' in underglaze blue. {Diameter: 19 1/4 inches (49 cm)}. Provenance: Collection of Captain Edward Pearce, Annapolis, Maryland, served the U.S. Navy in Japan & England during the 1960's to early 1970's.
