Chinese Qing Dynasty, Nephrite white dragon jade cup. Finely nephrite jade carved unto a thick potted, of inverted bell form, deep curvature, of a deep vessel, bulbous lower body steep round straight upward to slightly flared to the rim, raised on short footed ring. The exterior reserved and adorned with emerging archaic Chinese dragon myth surrounded the cup, interspersed with scrolling ruyi. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity, the Li-Shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons. The flared mouth rim jade carved with repeating key fret pattern. The jade is extremely well carved giving it an aura of splendor. The Nephrite Jade has a lustrous tone, with pale-celadon iridescent and attractive sporadic golden russet inclusions, exquisite and detail, the jade stone have clean tone, with pale-celadon iridescent and moist milky appearance.
