Apple eMate 300,
The eMate (1997) belonged to Apple's Newton Personal Digital Assistant family, handheld devices with advanced features for the time such as handwriting and voice recognition (English only), internet browsing plus a series of basic office management applications, all with resistive touch interface (it was necessary to use a special pen). Characterized by excessive slowness and handwriting recognition errors, they were not a commercial success and suffered the competition of antagonistic products such as the famous Palm Pilot, but laid the conceptual foundations for the future iPhone and iPad and - more generally - today's smartphones and tablets. The eMate model, compared to the other Newtons, is the only one intended for the education market, and for this reason it is equipped with a keyboard and a special protective shell with a very strong handle, with an attractive dark green semi-transparent color. The product is functional.
