A 17th century bronze model of Nessus abducting Deianeira, presumably North Italian Cast in the round and with old patina.. A cast bronze group by a follower of Giambologna, designed to be viewed in the round. The work depicts the centaur Nessus abducting Deianeira, the wife of Herakles, on his back. The patina with some slight grey mottling. Mounted on a newer marble plinth. Height 23 cm (without plinth). Provenance Austrian private collection. Wohl Norditalien 17. Jahrhundert Nessos raubt Deianeira Bronze, vollrund gegossen, alt patiniert. Die in der Nachfolge Giambolognas stehende allansichtige Bronze zeigt den Kentaur Nessos, der die von ihm geraubte Gattin des Herakles Deianeira auf seinem Pferderücken entführt. Patina zum Teil leicht gräulich gesprenkelt. Auf neueren Marmorsockel montiert. Höhe 23 cm (ohne Sockel). Provenienz Österreichische Privatsammlung.
