A Tibetan gilt bronze figure of Vajradhara. 16th century The heavenly embodiment of wisdom, Vajradhara, seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base, his hands crossed before his chest holding a vajra and ghanta in his hands, representing his primordial wisdom and mastery of skillful means. He is adorned with various jewellery inset with hard stones, his face with polychromy to the eyes and lips. Base open. Der Adhibuddha sitzt auf einem doppelten Lotosthron, seine Attribute Vajra und Ghanta überkreuzt vor der Brust haltend, dabei steht der Vajra für die alles durchdringende Lehre (sunyata), die Glocke für die absolute Weisheit (prajna). Augen und Lippen sind polychrom bemalt, die Krone und der prächtige Schmuck sind mit Buntsteinen eingelegt. Sockel geöffnet.
