Dimensions: 10.5"L x 11.5"H Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, blue & white landscape motif gu beaker vase. The vase potted in a Chinese porcelain traditional Gu beaker shape, having baluster shaped body, large, slight tall and thick, bulging belly on the mid, trumpet-shaped on the neck, raised with short round flaring foot base. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white under glaze base color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color. The main belly adorned with auspicious Chinese ornament, banded and enclosed with repeating interlocking key fret. The neck festooned mountain hill among peace lishui river, sampan boat, beside rocks and pavilion all in mountain landscape. the foot base decorated repeating taotie mask, and each section mark off and enclosed with double fine rings. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze grayish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous craftsman. Mark on under base, a six under glazed blue script characters with four smaller script, each within a square frame broders on four corners.
