PROVENANCE: From the Collections of Henry Windermere (1932- 2018) Covington, Georgia, served US Army for more than 28 years, retiring as a colonel. His received many military medals. He then became Westminster Services training coordinator and working as a program director for a defense contractor based in Xianggang China. Among his varied interests and passions were collecting Chinese art pieces. Dimensions (cm): Height: 29 Diameter: 19 Chinese Qing Dynasty Period Peacock Green glazed Floral reliefs porcelain YuHuChun Vase. The porcelain potted in Chinese traditional YuHuChun shape vessel, the pear shaped bottle vase, slight ovoid body, a bottom-heavy body tapered gracefully to slender waisted neck, with wide flaring mouth rim, supported on short small foot base, slight concave. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in masterfully covered in an even coat of a soft blue glaze which terminates at the base to reveal the pure white under glaze. Meticulous finish reliefs with Lotus flower blooms interspersed scrolling tendril, auspicious ornament and bordered with dense of floral diaper surrounding Bajixiang symbol. The blue glaze creates a mottled effect around the rim which is likened unto the blushing of human skin. The foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, and the receded central interior base left white under glaze. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy. Mark on base, a six red seal script characters reign mark, Made In The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
