Dimensions: cm, Length: 41cm, Width: 28cm Set of eight Chinese 20th Century Republic Period, Lu YanShao waterside mountain landscape painting scrolls. In vertical rectangular. Hand painted with detail Lu Yanshao's artistic view was to give a stimulus to tradition and still create a new form that was different from tradition. He also sought to transform traditional techniques into his own unique painting style. This painting is a sacksful illustration of his artistic view. In the painting, the mountains, trees, stones and clouds are expressed through Lu's wonderful painting techniques with a variety of stark contrasts: movements and stillness, softness and solidarity, sparseness and density. The colors are harmonious, balanced, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye. The period from 1975 to 1985 formed the peak of Lu's creativity. Painted in 1979 when Lu was 71 years old, this painting is representative of Lu's Landscapes. Lu Yanshao was a Chinese landscape painter known for his use of bold brushstrokes. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Lu applied dark ink directly on the paper, without creating outlines. Born on June 26, 1909 in Shanghai, China, by the 1980s, the artist had embarked on the vigorous works for which he is remembered. Lu died in 1993 in Shanghai, China. Today, his works are held in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria in British Columbia.
