Dimensions: Height: 34cm, Diam: 22cm Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Qianlong Taotie celadon Amphora vase. This vase has a flaring mouth-rim with flori form rim, a long cylindrical neck, a sloping shoulder with archaic ruyi grip, a downward tapering drum abdomen, and a ring splayed foot. The body of the vase is entirely covered in pure Douqing glaze with open face Tao tie mask, Wanzi motif and scrolling tendril. All reserved in an even coat of a pale green glaze which terminates at the base to reveal the pure white under glaze. The deep green glaze creates a mottled effect around the rim which is likened unto the blushing of human skin. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, Made In The Years Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
