A rare Sino-Tibetan gilt-laquer and red-painted bronze figure of a Luohan seated in a meditating position with downcast eyes, right hand in vitarka mudra, on a separately cast double lotus throne. 15th-16th century. Weight figure 16500, incl. throne 26900 g. H. figure 36 cm. incl. throne 51 cm. Provenance: Old Danish private collection. According to information from the Swedish city architect Salomon Sörensen, 1856–1937. Salomon Sörensen was Malmø's architect in the years 1893–1924. He collected Chinese and Japanese art most of his life. However it has not been possible to verify.
