A Victorian diamond, ruby and pearl spray brooch, c.1880, with three flower head clusters. Each one set with a central old European cut diamond, with cabochon ruby set gold anthers, bordered by petals, grain set with old Swiss cut diamonds. A diamond set bud with an articulated pearl centre, and diamond set leaves throughout. All set in silver and backed in gold, with a pin and later roller catch. Tested as sterling silver and approximately 9ct gold. 64 x 30mm, 13.94g Condition report: One flower head cluster will need to be re-soldered to the chenier (soft solder has been later rhodium plated, possibly when roller catch was fitted). Light surface marks commensurate with age. Diamonds bright and lively.
