A Victorian diamond set star brooch, c.1890, with a central cluster of old European cut and old Swiss cut diamonds, with cut down collets, with grain set rose cut outer diamonds, to form a small star. Old European cut diamond set points, in rubover collets to star points, grain set with old European cut diamonds, and rose cut diamonds, all grain set. A blade edge bar between, all culminating in an old European cut diamond in a cut down collet. All set in silver and backed in gold with a concealed hook, a detachable brooch fitting with a roller catch. Tested as sterling silver and 9ct gold, 28mm diameter Condition report: Tarnished. Bale deficient. Replacement roller catch.
