Six fuchi-gashira (hilt collars and pommels) Edo period (1615-1868), 18th to 19th century Four of shibuichi, one of shakudo, and one of iron, decorated in a variety of chiselling and inlay techniques, the first with Enma-o and the Hell Courtesan, signed Kensuido Ichirin with a kao; the second with the same subject, signed Shoryuken Teruyuki (active 1860s); the third with a rakan attacked by a helmeted demon, with signature Toshinaga and a kao; the fourth, the kashira with a figure wearing a Hannya mask and another masked figure, the fuchi with the race across the Uji River; the fifth with a mounted samurai and another horse, signed Tadayasu with a kao; the last with Taira no Tadanori seated under a cherry tree (12).
