Two okimono of dogs and a metal brooch Meiji (1868-1912) or Taisho (1912-1926) era, early 20th century The first a wood group of a puppy suckling its mother seated on an engraved rectangular mat, signed on the base with carved characters Toshiyuki Tategawa koku, 17cm x 19.2cm (6 5/8in x 7½in); the second a bronze puppy recumbent with one hind leg raised and scratching its right ear, unsigned, 9cm x 24cm (3½in x 9 3/8in); the last an inlaid metal sword fitting converted into a brooch, 3.7cm x 3cm (1½in x 1 1/8in).
