A pair of shibayama-style ivory-inlaid parrots By Kiyotoshi, Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century The plumage and tail of both birds in assorted coloured shell of different sizes, the legs and feet of gilt with shakudo talons, the eyes double-inlaid in pale horn and dark horn; signed on the underside Kiyotoshi/Seiju within a square shell-inlaid reserve; both on later, detachable wood stands. Both birds approx., 13cm (5 1/8in) high; both stands: 15.1cm (6in) high. (4).
