A bronze articulated model of a crab Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century The crustacean separately cast and assembled, the legs and claws fully articulated, the surface worked to resemble the crab's natural shell, patinated to a dark brown; unsigned. 22cm (8 5/8in) wide. 注脚 Provenance: Dr Isabella Gordon (1901-1988), known as the 'Grand Old Lady of Carcinology' (science of crustaceans) and thence by descent.
