An embroidered silk panel Distributed by the Iida Shinshichi House (Takashimaya), Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century Worked in silk and cotton threads, deploying predominantly long and short stitches in palettes of brown and white to depict a standing game-hunting dog, probably an English setter, on a brown silk ground, unsigned; the reverse showing the original silk board bearing the remnants of the old paper label depicting a silhouetted Kyoto pagoda scene. 34.5cm x 49.5cm (13½in x 19½in), framed and glazed.
