Hashiguchi Goyo (1880-1921) Showa era (1926-1989), circa 1950 A large tate-e keyblock proof print of Futokoro kagami (A Pocket Mirror), depicting a woman in kimono looking into a mirror, a black cat sleeping behind her, dated and signed Taisho kyunen kugatsu Goyo ga (September, Taisho 9 [1920], painted by Goyo) with artist's rectangular seal Goyo on the lower right, the square family seal Hashiguchi and printer's seal Suri Hirai Koichi (Printer Hirai Koichi) and a further seal on the lower left; on verso a limited edition seal Hyaku gojubu genteiban, dai [...] go (Limited edition of 150, unnumbered), followed by publisher's seal Goyo hanga kenkyujo no in (Seal of the Goyo Prints Research Association). 46.3cm x 30cm (18¼in x 11 9/16in). 注脚 Designed in 1920 but posthumously published by the artist's family in the 1950s.
