A large George IV Old Sheffield Silver Plate salver, circa 1824 Of shaped circular form with a shaped cavetto edge and a husk shell and scroll rim, raised upon four husk shell and acanthus scroll feet. The field centred with an engraved coat of arms with another on an escutcheon of pretence, with the crest above of a leopards’ head cabossed, all above the motto Magnum in Parvo. The field otherwise with engraved foliate scrolls. Unmarked. Diameter – 54 cm / 21.3 inches The arms are for Little impaling a variant for Keen For Edward Cullen Little (1801-79) who married Mary A. Keen (1799-1893) on the 21 November 1824 at St Mary Magdalene, Bermondsey, Surrey, England He the son of William Little (c.1772-1857) and Elizabeth Scott (c.1765 – 1832), she the only daughter and heiress of Richard Keen or Kine (c.1773-1842) and Susanna Johnson (c.1773-1849), both of Middlesex.
