Designed as a hollow repoussé head of Zeus with a fixed bail after an Etruscan design. Richly decorated with fine granulation, the reverse with a Greek inscription in granulation technique. The style and facture of this pendant are closely linked to the famous Acheloos pendant by the Roman goldsmith Castellani. The piece was created around 1860 and is an exact copy of an Etruscan model from the famous Campana collection. Dimensions 4.5 x 3 cm. Weight 12.84 g.
