此尊宗喀巴大师像头戴通人冠，表示他继承和严格遵行释迦室利所传印度部派佛教说一切有部戒律。额宽颐丰，眼睑曲线优美，法相宁谧和煦。身姿端正，内着僧坎和僧裙，外披袈裟和僧氅，这是西藏僧人的典型装束。采用写实性手法处理衣纹，线条自然流畅，衣缘纹饰錾刻精美。胸前双手结说法印，跏趺端坐。束腰式莲座造型精美，莲瓣布局舒展，上下对称分布。整尊造像造型端庄，工艺考究，十分难得。
