此件卧兽为和阗黄玉立体圆雕而成，色泽黄润，质地细腻温润，包浆光亮柔和。造型呈俯卧状，扭头回望，方口阔鼻，双眼炯炯，粗眉翻卷。额头丰盈，双耳贴脑，生一独角。身体浑圆饱满，背部脊线隆起，臀部肥硕，显得十分有力。四肢蜷于腹下，长尾翻卷贴于身侧。瑞兽神态刻画精准，雕琢打磨细腻，生动逼真，令人爱不释手。 来源：国营文物公司。
