A Chinese calligraphy poem in ink on paper by Yu Youren that was given to Ma Shuli. The calligraphy has an inscription, signature, and two seals, and it is mounted on a silk backing. Dimensions are: 52 inches tall X 12 3/4 inches wide, 132.1 cm X 32.4 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is very minor spotting with a possible area of repair. Ma Shuli was a famous political and diplomatic figure of the Republic of China. He served as the representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Japan (representative of the Yadong Relations Association), the Secretary-General of the Chinese Nationalist Party, the Chairman of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, and the Chairman of the Council of the Three People's Republic of China.
