Mary Harriet Earnshaw, British c.1843-1930- Portrait of a young girl and a dog; coloured chalks on paper, signed and dated 'M H Earnshaw 1896' (lower left), 50 x 60 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: Born in Ballyhack in Ireland as Mary Harriet Clarke, she married Revd Thomas Garside Earnshaw in 1869. They lived in Suffolk and Mary was a member of the Ipswich Fine Art Club, where she exhibited regularly. She also exhibited extensively around the country including at the Society of British Artists, the Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, the Liverpool Walker Art Gallery, the Manchester City Art Gallery, London's Royal Academy, the Royal Institute of Painter in Water Colours, the Royal Miniature Society, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, and the Society of Women Artists.Please refer to department for condition report
