A MUGHAL-STYLE AGATE PERFUME BOTTLEIndia, 19th century. The mango shaped bottle carved with a ring of leaves at the shoulder and inset with red glass beads and gilt wire, surmounted by a pointy stopper. The semi-translucent stone of a beige tone with amber inclusions.Condition: Good condition with minor wear and few natural age cracks as well as small nicks and notches here and there.Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik Istvan Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. Istvan Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
