A silver repoussé rectangular sheet with the edges rolled into tubes. The head of the animal is made from a separately added element repossessed onto bitumen. The body of the stag is finely engraved with details. The head points towards the viewer and the antlers are separately applied along with the ears. The plaque may have adorned a box or other such vessel or container. 8 cm. height, 6.5 cm. length. 22 grams.CONDITION Very good condition with no restoration. PROVENANCE Previously in a private Belgium family collection, kept in the Netherlands since 1960 up to now.
