A two-handled travertine jar, the body tapering out to a flat base, wide offset rim and twin vestigial lug handles. Third Intermediate-Late Period, 21st-27th Dynasty. 9 cm. height 1.1 kg.CONDITION Fine condition. PROVENANCE Previously in Hong Kong family collection since the early 1980s, previously in a Japanese art gallery since 1973. REFERENCE Similar 27th Dynasty Egyptian jar cf. jar with the name of Xerxes the Great, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, accession number 14.2.8
