The features are clownish??, with a small forehead, the eyes with finely modelled eyelids and extended eye-line. Wearing the Afnet headdress and the mouth with drilled holes in the corners, forcing the fleshy lips into a wide smile. The wide, strong nose, cheeks and chin are representative, portraits of Ptolemaic periods and the eyebrows are carved in a more naturalistic manner than those on Late Period sculptures. The fleshy ear is also characteristic of Ptolemaic portraiture.Accompanied by an old green marble stand. 10 cm. height, 9.5 cm. length, 7.3 cm. width, excluding base stand. 890 grams.CONDITION Good condition.PROVENANCE From a Hong Kong family collection since the early 1980s; previously in a Hong Kong collection since 1973, Ex Sakaii art gallery.
