In the central medallion on the base is a low relief representation of the face of Medusa, this can be seen when the lamp hangs from the ceiling. The scallop shell or spade-shaped nozzles are equidistantly placed around a central raised boss with theatre masks with rosettes above decorating the bowl of the lamp placed between the nozzles, a central filling hole is at the centre of the lamp. 23.5 cm. (longest access) CONDITION Fair condition. PROVENANCE Previously in European private collection acquired on the German art market in the 1980s.
