此件玉鹿为和阗青玉圆雕而成，质地细腻润泽，宝光熠熠，局部带有红色沁斑，十分美艳。小鹿身形圆浑，四肢蜷曲于腹下，头部昂起，背部隆挺，臀部翘起小圆尾。前腿呈半抬状，作伏卧将起之态。双耳贴角，橄榄形眼，尖嘴闭口，口中衔一莲枝，莲叶高过头顶，花苞立于背上，细节及毛发皆以短阴线琢刻。整体造型优美雅致，肌肉骨骼之微妙细节雕饰精准到位，起立瞬间的动感更为生动传神，具有极强的艺术感染力，具有鲜明的宋元时期玉雕风格，堪为动物玉雕精品，十分难得。
