此件玉碗为和阗青白玉制成，质地致密温润，局部带红沁。造型饱满，口微侈，器壁至底渐收，下承圈足。器口外沿凸起，装饰一周云雷纹，外壁以减地阳起手法雕饰一对硕大的饕餮纹，火焰形宽眉，柳叶形眼，中部出戟作鼻，两侧巨口大张露出獠牙。碗身饕餮纹以商周时期青铜器纹样为蓝本，雕琢威严工整，颇具装饰效果，抽象中隐约展现古代崇尚神灵图腾的场景。外壁近底处装饰一周江崖海水纹。整器造型敦实，古朴端庄，为典型的明代仿古玉雕精品，保存至今，颇为可贵。
