A CELADON AND RUSSET JADE FIGURE OF AN ELEPHANT, MING DYNASTY China, 1368-1644. The substantial body carved in form of a pebble, portraying a recumbent elephant with its legs neatly tucked beneath its corpulent body, the head depicted gently turned to the left, incised with a narrow eye, a long curling trunk, and a short, curved tusk. The translucent stone of a fine celadon color with russet veins and cloudy white inclusions.

Provenance: From an old private collection in Illinois, USA.
Condition: Excellent condition with some old wear and traces of use. The stone with natural inclusions and fissures, some of which may have developed into small hairline cracks over time. Possibly microscopic nicks.

中國，1368-1644年。呈山子形，大象向左回首，呈半臥姿，長鼻翻捲，體態肥碩，雙耳如扇，四肢如柱。青玉留皮，巧妙利用皮色，使大象更顯憨厚生動。

來源：美國伊利諾斯州私人舊藏。
品相：狀況極好，有一些磨損和使用痕跡。玉料有天然紋理和裂縫，微小的刻痕。
