A GREEN GLAZED POTTERY FIGURE OF A DUCK, HAN DYNASTY
China, 206 BC to 220 AD. Molded as two halves joined in the middle, the standing duck looking forward, its legs flanking the oval base, the wings flush with the body and showing finely incised lines indicating the plumage, the head modeled with eyes and beak, covered overall by a dark green glaze suffused with dense crackle.
Provenance: French trade.
Condition: Very good condition overall, commensurate with age. Extensive weathering, some encrustations, chips and losses, fine cracks, minor signs of erosion.
