A BLUE AND WHITE 'DRAGON' BRUSHPOT, BITONG, QING DYNASTY
China, 18th century. Of cylindrical form, painted to the exterior with a dragon writhing amid dense scrolling vines issuing lingzhi and leaves. The spotted dragon with human-like toed feet and a thick mane, the mouth agape revealing sharp fangs.
Provenance: From a German private collection.
Condition: Good condition with minor wear and firing flaws, including fritting to the rim, and surface scratches.
