Ω A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN ‘DRAGON’ DISH, MING DYNASTY, WANLI PERIOD, 1573 – 1620 明 万历 青花龙纹碟 The gently rounded sides rising from a short straight foot to an everted rim, freely painted to the interior with a medallion enclosing a ferocious scaly dragon, the exterior with two dragons in mutual pursuit of a flaming pearl Diameter: 19.5cm Condition Report The dish has a 2 and a 6mm wide shallow rim chip, minor rim fritting, a circa 6mm shallow flake to the inside edge of the foot ring, a circa 7cm firing crack to the base, visible to the interior and extending as a glaze line to 12cm and three small pieces of kiln grit adhered to the dragon’s body on the interior.
