A LARGE CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN GILT-BRONZE MOUNTED CACHEPOT, MING DYNASTY, WANLI PERIOD, 1572 – 1620 明 萬曆 青花荷塘蓮花紋卷缸鑲法式铜鎏金雙山羊首環形銅扣 The porcelain Ming dynasty, Wanli period, 1572 – 1620, the ormolu mounts, French, in the Regence style, 19th century The ovoid jar painted in underglaze-blue with panels including a lotus pond and peonies issuing from rock work, all set within gilt-bronze gadrooned mounts with goat’s head mask and ring handles Height: 35cm Diameter: 41cm Provenance: Sotheby’s Olympia, 15th July 2003, lot 155, purchased for £3,705 Condition Report Examined with mounts attached, the vessel has been reduced in height, there is a break around the luting line, there is a circa 5cm wide four-pointed glaze star crack to the interior, and glaze scratches to the interior and exterior.
