Description A SMALL LACQUERED WOOD MASK OF A MANJapan, late 19th centuryFinely carved as a man with a stunned expression, marked by a pair of dramatically reverse-painted glass eyes, a broad nose with flared pierced nostrils, and a forehead with veins, the brows and mustache neatly adorned with real horsehair. Overall covered in a dark red color. The reverse with a transversal stick for suspension and an old paper label.Condition: Good condition with minor wear, some cracks to the lacquer and touch ups.Provenance: Private Czech collection.
